Let's try some crafts!

A friend of mine asked me a couple days ago if I have any short term and/or long term goals that I might want to accomplish this year, and I wasn't quite sure on it.
But now after thinking about it, I want to try out more crafts this year.

The first would be quilting, which I have already started. My sister Alyssa got a sewing machine as a wedding present and decided to learn how to use it more. She asked around at church to see who would be interested in starting a sewing/quilting group, and I said I would like to. We're a small group of maybe 5-8 people and we've been meeting for a couple weeks now. Even being with some of these women who know how to quilt is inspiring me to try my best to work hard on it. I'm working on a four patch baby quilt, not for anyone in particular. Maybe my future children! I'm just trying to get used to it. And I'm so grateful for the women who attend the group to help me out in any way they can!

Here's some picture of the materials I'm using. I already have two strips sewn, and everything else is waiting to be put together!!

Another craft I would like to possibly get into is making cool things out of Mason jars. Not sure how much I'll actually do, but I got the materials to make one. I saw a jar bank on a website and it says "CAN'T TOUCH THIS", but it was like $13 or something. I liked it but if I was to order it, I would have to pay shipping and such. Besides the colours of it didn't match my room very well. So I decided to make my own with stickers and ModPodge. And I'll cut a slit in the top so I can put change in it.
Then I can start collecting change to put towards something good. :)

I've also been wanting to get into knitting for a while. The only thing I've ever knit was half a dishcloth. Yes you read that right, only half, because I ran out of yarn before finishing. But that's okay! I know some of the basics, so now I just have to work on something else!

Lastly, I want to be getting out more to take nice pictures of nature or people or animals. On Boxing Day, I went to Best Buy and got a 55-250 mm lens for my camera, which I want to use!
For now, I'll show you some cute iPhone pictures!

In closing today, I will also share this picture of these adorable pillows on my bed! The flamingo one is from Winners, the floral one is from Price Mart!! I can't remember where the Union Jack pillow came from, maybe Sears, But they all match and I love them. #pillowappreciation

Hello all

Hi everyone,
My name is Kayla Fraser and I'm currently 20 years old. I decided to start a blog to keep up my writing skills.
I live in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island with my parents Kevin and Karen and my brother Bryan. I also have a cat named Meeko and a dog named Winnie. I have a sister as well named Alyssa. She's married so she lives with her husband Haig. I love them both so much.
In May 2015, I graduated from Holland College with a diploma in journalism. Since then, I've worked one reporting job and it was in Grand Falls-Windsor, Newfoundland. It was great, but I came back home after a couple months. (Hence writing a blog to keep writing)
Since then, I started working at Rockport and I sell shoes. I'm actually a third key there so that's always cool.
I'm a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, and this is going to sound so corny, but it's truly a blessing in my life. Everyone I attend church with is like family to me and I love that.

Some of my hobbies include baking, photography, crafts, writing, and watching Netflix ;)
So that's a lot of the basics. I figured starting a blog this year would be an awesome way to keep writing and to document things going on in my life.

So enjoy!
